March began with a powerful Full Moon in Virgo. The intense energy from this Full Moon summoned us to begin questioning our path; employment, career, purpose, success, short-comings, and direction. Yes, Virgo’s energy is effecting each of us in a way that to some may feel uplifting, empowering, insightful and directive, or unnerving and threatening. How and/or where we earn our bread and butter can either give us a sense of accomplishment, joy and fulfillment for the hours we spend on the job each day, or fill us with boredom and dread. Yes, this Virgo Full Moon is kicking up some dust and making us take a long and hard look at the work that we do, and how it contributes to our identity. Many will say, “A job is what you make it.” While others will justify their job with, “It’s a paycheck.” Unfortunately, it won’t be that easy to dismiss. Our need for making a difference, loving what we do, and enjoying the process to find our bliss will be the theme of this month and many months to come. Virgo’s ruling planet, Mercury will gracefully open the door for Jupiter, on March 2nd, which will support your efforts to make whatever career or job changes and corrections that need to be made in an effort to begin feeling the love when it comes to the work that you do.

Jupiter, the planet of finances and expansion goes retrograde on March 8th. When a planet is in retrograde motion it appears to be going backwards in the cosmos. Ironically, a Jupiter retrograde isn’t a really bad thing, especially if you are trying to lose weight! That’s right. Jupiter is the planet of expansion – in ALL things – including our waistlines! Decide what kind of weight loss program or diet you want to try, and work with Jupiter’s retrograde energy. You should see and feel the pounds shed as Jupiter is retrograde from March 8th – July 10th!

Turn your clocks ahead an hour on March 11th as Daylight Saving Time begins its new season. Just as we’re getting used to the new time change, St Patrick’s Day and the New Moon in Pisces fall on March 17th. It will be a glorious time to put your creative ideas, business or career pursuits in motion and see them to fruition. Who knows, you may find a pot o’ gold at the end of your rainbow!

The Sun enters the fire sign, Aries, on March 20th. Magick begins its new season on the first day of spring, March 20th. The Celtic goddess, Ostara, also known as the Spring Equinox or Vernal Equinox signals the earth to move from the dead of the season, winter, to the season of new beginnings, spring. Nature, birth, fertility, and agriculture are celebrated at this time. In the U.K., the main Ostara celebration takes place at Stonehenge at sunrise.

Just when we will be feeling good about getting out the gardening tools, lawn chairs and bar-b-que equipment, Mercury goes retrograde on March 22nd, in Aries, and goes direct on April 15th! There is nothing simple about a Mercury retrograde – I don’t care how hard you try to ignore it, the sucker just seems to get in the way of everything! So, the best things NOT to do are: sign any important papers, get married, close on a house or property, buy a car, or start a new job. What you can do is: spring cleaning, plant your garden, clean out closets, re-think, re-organize, re-plan, and re-lax! Mercury retrograde is a “do-over” time – but, don’t do anything over until it has gone direct!
