Ghosts, Goblins, and things that go bump in the night! It’s October, and the beginning of the end of the Celtic year on October 31st (Samhain/Halloween).
On the cosmic end of things… Mars normally puts on the boxing gloves and gives us grief, but, this month he’s in a positive station, which means that he and Pluto will encourage us to clean our house and affairs of things and people that we no longer have a need or use for. Your new beginning will only come to fruition with action (which is a Mars thing). Will this process create conflict, friction, dissension, and some heated disagreements and/or arguments? Yes. But, the alternative is;
“If you continue to do what you’ve always done, you will continue to get what you’ve always gotten.” Tony Robbins
The Full Moon is in fire sign, Aries, on October 5th. The Native American Indians gave the exceptionally bright October Full Moon several names; Full Hunter’s Moon, Full Harvest Moon, Blood Moon, and Sanguine Moon. If you come from farm background, you may remember harvest continuing throughout the night by the light of the Full Harvest Moon.
The New Moon in air sign, Libra, is on October 19th. Uranus is the planet of the unexpected, and he’s opposing the New Moon, which is going to send a new relationship or partnership into spiral motion. If you feel off balance for a week or so, blame it on Uranus! LOL!
Happy Birthday, Scorpio! October 23rd the sun will enter the water sign, Scorpio. Jupiter landed in Scorpio on October 10th, and he brought a gift of blessings and expansion for those who have their sun, moon or rising sign in Scorpio until November 2018. Just remember Scorpio, Jupiter brought the gift, but, it’s up to you to unwrap it and push forward to make your wishes manifest.
Whatever you call it; Halloween, All Hallow’s Eve, Day of the Dead, or Samhain (summer’s end), few realize that the night preceding All Hallows Day or All Saints Day has been recognized for centuries as one of the the most powerful, mystical, and magickal nights of the year. It’s the one night of the year when the veil between the worlds is the thinnest. And, few realize that the true origin of Halloween is a celebration honoring those ancestors who passed on before us. It’s our memories that keep them alive.
The Celts believed that the normal laws of time and space were held in a suspended state of animation during this time, allowing a special window where the spirit world could intermingle with the living. It was a night when the dead could cross the veils and return to the land of the living to celebrate with their family, or clan. As such, the great burial mounds of Ireland were lit with torches, so the spirits of the dead could find their way.
Today, many cultures still organize feasts, suppers, and ceremonies to honor their dead. In doing so, they complete a cycle of birth and death in line with the harmony and order of the universe. So, as you light your candles on Halloween, keep in mind the true meaning of this time; one of magickal connections to the other side. Send out your love and gratitude and hope that it’s enough to light their way back home.
Many have asked how the online store is coming?… All I can say is…”It’s coming!” LOL! It’s much harder and time consuming putting up an online store now, and getting the descriptions and SEO right. I’ve got it set-up for FREE Shipping for the lower 48 states, and shipping by weight for Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and the UK. There is product in and ready for sale, but new product is going in slowly. For that, I apologize.
Check back next month, and we’ll see what the cosmos is going to give us for Thanksgiving! Gobble, Gobble, Gobble! LOL!
